This monster called OCD that we live with daily continues to destroy far too many lives, relationships, jobs and self esteems. It shadows us with endless doubts even though deep within us we know we’d never harm that loved one, be blasphemous against God, run over that child/adult or make others ill on purpose. When I was in treatment I was fortunate enough to have met others with this debilitating illness and although we are all different we share a common bond. It was a wonderful feeling having them there to talk to and share my ups and downs of the day with. Although friends and family mean well, it seems that we are the only ones who fully understand the pain and hell that OCD causes us. Please know that we can fight this illness and that you don’t have to do it alone, we don’t have to let it destroy our lives anymore. We can beat this monster called OCD and although it is hard work, so are doing endless rituals that get us nowhere but more pain and agony. This hard work has a wonderful payoff.
