Submit your Story for my upcoming book 'OCD-You are not Alone'. Proceeds from the book will be going to 3 wonderful organizations; International OC Foundation, Peace of Mind and OCD-UK
Hello,
My name is Scott, you don't know me but we do have something in common, I have OCD.
I first realized I had OCD in 1997 but over the years I’ve come to realize that I used to doubt and question myself since I was a young child. It has waxed and waned over the years but the monster has always been there, haunting me, making me question every move I made and punishing me with endless rituals. It had destroyed my life. It took a good relationship from me and my job. It almost took my life until I got help!!! Now I want to help others with what I have learned.
That is where you come in; I am compiling a book of stories from real people like you and me, people who live life daily with this illness. So that others may read about the trials and tribulations others suffering with OCD have and are going through, the good and the bad, the funny and the sad.
I want them to know they are not alone in this struggle, that there are others out there just like them, going through the same emotions and pain that they are.
I am also compiling stories from friends and family of those with OCD and how they related to the struggle. These will all be compiled in a book that helps explain more about OCD, the stories of people with OCD, the stories of people who have been effected by those with OCD and resources to get the help many people so greatly need. If my story can help even one person, it will have been worth it. Can you imagine what 100 stories could do?
If you would like to be apart of this great book or know others what would like to contribute please contact me.
I am looking for others to contribute their stories about their struggle with OCD. You don’t have to use your name, I would ask that you at least put the State or Province you are from, and so others can see there are people all over this planet with the same problems. If you want to use your name or provide any contact information you are also welcome to do that but it is certainly not required. Be open and honest with your story; share the lows and the highs. It doesn't have to be a long story, at least a paragraph to 4 pages. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated; proceeds from the sale of this book will go directly to International OCD Foundation , OCDUK.org and PeaceofMind.com so they can continue to help others with the battle.
Thank you for your time.
Scott
